Sustainable cultivation

At Grupo Cañamás we are committed to offering you the most environmentally friendly citrus fruits. On our farms certified by GLOBALGAP and GRASP we produce a sustainable crop, free of residues. Fruit production is carried out without chemical treatments against insect pests from the beginning of fruit growth.

Sustainable agriculture

Use of biological methods

Sustainable agriculture activities aim to produce a healthier and more resilient crop and maintain a balanced ecosystem. In these processes we always apply biotechnological methods that help us to control pests without the use of phytosanitary treatments.

Use of useful fauna

Pest control

Our agro-ecological crop uses, as a priority, the useful fauna (beneficial insects) method for pest control. If we have to use chemicals, we always use those that are less harmful to the useful fauna and that are quickly degraded.

Use of biological treatments

After fruit setting

Once the fruit has set, only biological treatments will be carried out. If it is not possible to control a pest after the fruit setting, we would exclude this crop from our agro-ecological production.

Specific packaging

According to the type of production

As for the management of sustainable agricultural crops, we use specific harvesting boxes for this type of production, different from those of conventional fruit. Transport is also done separately. This fruit, which does not undergo any post-harvest treatment, is stored and handled on separate cold storages independent from the rest of the production in order to avoid cross-contamination.
